Despite the progress being made nationally to control the current Coronavirus pandemic, we took the very difficult decision to defer the production of Kinky Boots that was scheduled to take place in October 2020.

It was felt that logistically there would be serious issues created by the current situation including the availability of costumes, rehearsal rooms and scenery, which could affect the quality of the production. Alongside this we feel that you, our supporters may not feel confident enough to return to theatres in sufficient numbers, resulting in a financial risk that, as a charity, we were not willing to take.

Primarily, however, the health of our members, volunteers and our patrons has to take priority and we are not willing to risk this either.

This is obviously a huge disappointment for us and, we know, for our valued supporters too. Furthermore, unfortunately, we cannot have the licence for the show in 2021 due to other productions already booked. However, we can have it for 2022 so will be producing the show then instead. It will be a fantastic show whenever we do it so will still be something to look forward to. The new dates are Sunday 16th to Saturday 22nd October, 2022.

So what about 2021? Well, we do not want to rush into making decisions yet but instead will see how the current situation pans out. We don't believe anyone knows when things will return to 'normal' so we will continue to monitor the situation. You will be the first to know of our intentions.

Thank you all for your continued support. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all as soon as possible.
